Lindner, Mr. and Mrs. Casper (Golden – 22 June 1977)

Mr. and Mrs. Casper Lindner, North Andrews St., Greenwood, were honored Saturday, June 25, in honor of the celebration of their golden wedding anniversary, hosted by their children.

The event was held at St. Mary’s Hall following a concelebrated mass at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. The Rev. Robert Houston was assisted by the Rev. John Heagle of Holy Family, Willard, and the Rev. Chester Osowski of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Loyal.

They renewed their vows with the Rev. Michael Mertens of La Crosse. A niece, Mrs. Rita Stewart was organist and other members assisted in the service.

During the afternoon “open house” in the auditorium the grandchildren presented a program.

The wedding cake was made by a granddaughter, Mrs. Dennis Wilber of Menomonie, and it centered a table with wedding pictures of 50 years ago at either end. Mrs. Wilber also had made a quilt with children’s names , the quilt was presented to the honored couple by grandchildren.

Casper was born at Millston and went to Greenwood as a teenager, arming for 38 years. After his retirement he did carpentry work. He likes to do some fishing and hunting.

Mrs. Lindner, the former Marie Keller, was born at Cazenovia and had done restaurant work before coming to Greenwood.

They were united in marriage June 22, 1927 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Greenwood. One attendant at the ceremony, Mrs. Gerald Denk, Greenwood, attended the celebration.

The couple’s children are Carl Lindner, Mrs. Elaine Herdrick, Miss Jackie Lindner and Donald Lindner all of Greenwood; Mrs. Henry (Shirley) Janezich, Willard; Mrs. Franklin (Irene) Wilke, LaVern Lindner and Arthur and Richard Lindner all of Loyal; and Mrs. Emmett (Dorothy) Wessel, Sheboygan; and Mrs. Joe (Jeanette) Sulivan, McLean, Va.

Also present were all but one of their 48 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Some 300 guests were present in the afternoon and a buffet supper in later afternoon.
