Lindow, Mr. and Mrs. Ed (Golden – 15 June 1977)

The golden wedding anniversary of Ed and Marian Lindow of Chili was observed Saturday afternoon, June 18, at the United Methodist Church there. The sincere greetings and lovely gifts they received helped to make the occasion a great day of the couple, who exchanged marriage vows before the Rev. G.E. Zellmer on June 15, 1927, at the Lindow farm home in the Town of Fremont. Their attendants were Mrs. W.C. Clare, Elroy, as maid of honor, and Roy Lindow as bestman.

Mr. Lindow is a native of the Town of Fremont and his wife, the former Marian Ure, was born in the neighboring Town of Lynn. They farmed on the home farm in the Town of Fremont for 47 years and are now semi-retired and living in Chili. Both are active members of the United Methodist Church since it was built in Chili 50 years ago. He has been a church trustee for 23 years, and she has been a member of the women’s society for 43 years. The Lindows are active in the Chili Senior Citizens group and are also members of two Bible study groups.

Their two daughters are Mrs. William (Carol) Baumgartner of Scottsdale, Az., and Mrs. Frank (Ardith) Arbelovsky of Kenai, Ak. Grandchildren include Larry and Linda Baumgartner, both deceased, and Mary Baumgartner, Steve, Sue, Scott, and Stacy Arbelovsky.

Among those attending the observance were the Lindows’ daughter, Ardith, who traveled with her husband and children from Alaska to be present for the golden anniversary.
