Schmidt, Bernadette Marie (21 May 1977)

A home in Monterey, Ca., awaits Mr. and Mrs. James John Pachniak, touring the western states following their May 21 wedding at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Loyal. The Rev. Chester Osowski officiated at the ceremony for the former Bernadette Marie Schmidt, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bernard E. Schmidt, Rt. 2 Loyal, and the son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry P. Pachniak, Rt. 3 Edgar.

The bride appeared in an empire style gown of sheer organza trimmed with Venise lace and blue satin ribbon and featuring a chapel train. A Juliet cap of matching lace held her chapel length, lace-edged veil. She carried a bouquet of white roses, white carnations and baby’s breath as she was presented in marriage by her father.

Mrs. Stephen Wolf of Marshfield, friend of the bride, was her honor attendant. Bridesmaids were Miss Barbara Schmidt of Loyal, sister of the bride, and Mrs. Phillip Pachniak of Milwaukee. Their halter style gowns of blue floral print voile were topped by lace-edged stoles. They held cone-shaped arrangements of white daisies and blue baby’s breath and wore sprigs of blue baby’s breath in their hair.

The groom chose his brother, Greg Pachniak of Colorado Springs, Ca., as bestman. Stephen Wolf of Marshfield and Phillip Pachniak of Milwaukee, another brother, served as groomsmen. Chuck Rueth and Kevin Pachniak shared ushering duties.

Instrumental music was provided by Judy Zettler with guitar and Jodi Schoonover at the organ. Diane Anderegg and Sharon Schoonover sang.

A reception was held at the Loyal American Legion Hall. Dinner was served at the church hall.

The new Mrs. Pachniak graduated from Loyal High School in 1975 and has been employed as a waitress at a restaurant in Spencer. Her husband, a 1972 graduate of Stratford High School, is a budgeting specialist with the U.S. Army at Ft. Ord, Ca.
