King, Jean Susan (21 May 1977)

Jean Susan King and Michael Donald Hoover were married Saturday, May 21, in a 2 p.m. ceremony performed at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Neillsville by the Rev. Joseph Henseler. A 4:30 p.m. reception at the American Legion Hall was followed by a dance in the evening.

Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Harry King, Rt. 2 Neillsville, and Mr. and Mrs. Donald Hoover, Rt. 2 Granton.

Presented in Marriage by her father, the bride appeared in an empire style gown fashioned with a high neckline, lace bodice, and satin skirt trimmed with lace at the hemline. Her lace headpiece caught a lace-trimmed veil. White roses, blue carnations, white daisies and baby’s breath formed her bouquet.

Miss Lisa Warren was the maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Karen Embke and Debbie Oestreich. Two-toned lace framed the smocked bodices of their gowns and trimmed the wispy handkerchief sleeves. They carried bouquets of white, pink, and yellow daisies with baby’s breath.

Attending the groom were Thomas Mortenson as bestman and Roger Huth and Loren Meddaugh as groomsmen. John Hoover and Eugene Dux shared ushering duties.

Lori King was the flower girl and Alan Hoover, the ring bearer.

The organist was Mrs. Bernard Hurley. Marie Vornholt was the soloist.

The bride is a 1977 graduate of Neillsville High School and is employed as a waitress. Her husband, a 1975 graduate of the same school, is employed by a manufacturing firm in Marshfield. They are making their home at 210 East Division St. in Neillsville.
