Former County Man Dies (Home Burns - 1976)

Word was received Saturday by Mrs. Don Drew of the tragic death of her brother-in-law, Elton Dillon, a former Greenwood resident and husband of the former Susie Drew. Mr. Dillon met his death, when his home burned to the ground Friday night in Pelican Rapids, Mn., in 11 degree below zero weather. Cause of the fire had not been determined.

His wife, Susie, escaped in her night clothing and is in a hospital there. She is suffering from smoke inhalation and shock. Their son, Mack, who lived at home is in serious condition, in a hospital there. He was badly burned.

Funeral services for Elton are scheduled for Tuesday in Pelican Rapids. His nephew and niece, Ronald Drew of Milwaukee and Mrs. James (Carol) Turnquist, left Sunday morning for Pelican Rapids. He also is survived by three other sons besides his wife and son, Mack.
