Jennings, Mr. and Mrs. Roy (Golden - 8 December 1976)

A special interest in travel is shared by Roy and Annabelle Jennings of Rt. 1 Chili, who were married December 8, 1926, at Yorkville by the Rev. Joseph Stein. Mr. and Mrs. Jennings marked their 50th wedding anniversary with a family-style dinner and open house December 4 at the United Methodist Church parlors in Chili. A family dinner was held at the couple’s home on the 8th.

Mrs. Jennings, the former Annabelle Dodder, was born in Gains, Mi., and her husband was born in Rio, Wi. Both are members of Immanuel United Methodist Church, Chili, and Mrs. Jennings is a past president of its W.S.C.S. They have been members of the choir for many years, and Mr. Jennings sang in the men’s quartet for several years. He served as clerk of the Cozy Corner School board for eight years.

Among those present for the anniversary observance were all seven of the couple’s children and their spouses. The children are Arthur of Oak Creek, Mrs. Richard (Mary) Walters of Aurora, Co., Mrs. Richard (Esther) Veltus of Racine, Mrs. Joe (Alice) Kirk of St. Paul, Mn., Kenneth of Granton, George of Marshfield and Howard of Chili. Also present were 28 of their 30 grandchildren, and six of their seven great-grandchildren.

Among those attending from out of town were the Jennings’s maid of honor, Mrs. Dorothy DeGroote of Madison and bestman, the Rev. Dale Jennings of Ripon.

Present as well from away were Mrs. Dale Jennings and Mr./Mrs. Oliver Happe, Ripon; Mr./Mrs. Ellsworth Olson, Miss Edna Jennings, Mr./Mrs. Lloyd Olson and family and Mr./Mrs. Les Veltus, Racine; Mr./Mrs. Claude Jennings and Mr./Mrs. Ronald Jennings and family, Wautoma; Mr./Mrs. Rodney DeGroote and family, Madison; Mr./Mrs. Wayne Johnson and family, Burlington; Mr./Mrs. Lester Lindow, Lake Forest, Il.; and Mrs. Alta Porter, Davenport, Ia.
