The marriage of Lynette M. Karnitz and Melvyn F. Mueller was solemnized Saturday, October 23, in a 3 p.m. ceremony performed at Zion American Lutheran Church in the Town of Pine Valley by the Stephen Engelstad. Bali Hai Supper Club was the setting later for a reception honoring the couple.

A colonial bouquet of fall-hued pompons, sweetheart roses, baby’s breath and white silk flowers brightened the bride’s empire style gown of White Qiana knit featuring long, lace-trimmed sleeves and a lace and seed pearl-adorned bodice. Her elbow length veil was edged in matching lace.

Joy Karnitz of Wausau, matron of honor, and Eileen Zank, bridesmaid, appeared in high-bodice, full-skirted gowns of jade green Qiana knit with full sleeves. Their dresses, and her own gown and veil, were fashioned by the bride. The bridal attendants carried colonial arrangements of fall-colored pompons and sweetheart roses with baby’s breath.

The groom was attended by Kerry Karnitz of Wausau as bestman and by Terry Leiskau of East Troy as groomsman. Ushering duties were shared by Roger Dittsenbarger, Red oak, Ia., and Roger Nitschke, Granton.

Lori Smetana was the organist and Lisa Smetana, the vocal soloist.

Hostesses at prenuptial showers were Joy Karnitz and Jeanne Stiemke and Sharilyn Ziegler.

The bride graduated from Neillsville High School in 1969 and is employed at a local bank. Her husband graduated from Griswold High School and from Dana College, Blair, Nb., in 1970. He is employed by a Kiester, Mn. firm.
