Lueck, Janis (Marriage – 28 August 1976)

A La Crosse couple, Janis M. Lueck and Michael E. Lechner, were married Saturday afternoon, August 28, at Calvary Lutheran Church in Neillsville. The Rev. Ronald Nordin officiated at the 2 p.m. ceremony for the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wilmer Lueck, Rt. 1 Greenwood, and the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Lechner, Kenosha.

The bride carried a bouquet of gardenias with trailing ivy as she was presented in marriage by her parents. Her gown of white Quiana was fashioned with long, fitted sleeves with tea cup ruffling, a ruffled V-neckline and a gathered, hemline-flounced skirt flowing into a chapel train. Her matching picture hat was highlighted by a cabbage rose.

Mary Menne, Caledonia, Mn., was the bride’s honor attendant and Mrs. Mark Hemp was her bridesmaid. They appeared in halter gowns of coral interlock knit featuring bodice embroidery and matching jackets. Matching hats with cabbage roses and nosegays of coral roses and white carnations completed their ensembles.

The groom was attended by Bill Hewitt, Kenosha, as bestman and by Jim Lubniewski, Greenfield, as groomsman. Guests were seated by Mark Hemp and Steve Saig.

Kathy Lechner and Joe Miller were the vocalists.

A reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents, and the Wildcat Inn was the setting for a dinner and dance.

The new Mrs. Lechner is a 1974 graduate of Neillsville High School and a 1975 graduate of Western Wisconsin Technical Institute-La Crosse. She is a certified dental assistant. Her husband graduated from Memorial High School in Tulsa, Ok., in 1970 and is enrolled as a sophomore at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. He is employed as a psychiatric aide at Lakeview Health Center, West Salem.

Following their return from a wedding trip to Lake of the Ozarks, Mo., the couple will live in La Crosse.
