Owen, Wisconsin, December 13, 1907 – Suffering from a stunning blow on the head delivered by a boy who rescued a young girl from his attack, Fritz Tedeson is in the county jail at Neillsville, in imminent danger of being dragged out and lynched by a mob from this village. The girl is at her parent’s home and in a precarious condition, but her father is using every means in his power to quiet the people.

Mob have been formed and threats of lynching are spreading, and up to a late hour tonight all efforsts on the part of the father and the village authorities have failed to bring any assurance that the threats will not be carried out.

Tedeson was at first held in the local jail, but as the anger of the people grew the marshal smuggled him out and took him to Neillsville for safety.
