Counsell, Hattie B. (7 February 1895 - 30 March 1983)

NEILLSVILLE -- Services for Mrs. John T. (Hattie B.) Counsell, 88, of 303 E. 9th St. will be Saturday at the Gesche Funeral Home, Neillsville. Mrs. Counsell died at her home Wednesday.

The Rev. Howard Ott, of the United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Neillsville Cemetery. Pallbearers will be George Campbell, John Mattson, Orville Jake, Ed Struensee, Norman Mayer and Richard Raebel.

Visitation will be at the Gesche Funeral Home.

The former Hattie B. Wilke was born February 7, 1895 in Elkhorn, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl (Henrietta Simon) Wilke. She came to this area with her parents as a young child and was educated in the Town of Washburn. She was married to John T. Counsell September 2, 1914 in Neillsville. They farmed in the towns of Grant and Pine Valley for many years.

Her husband died August 27, 1956 and she continued to operated the farm until 1962 when she moved to Neillsville. She was also employed by Model Laundry.

She was a member of the Christian Science Church.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Ronald (Betty) Noah of Neillsville; a son, Jack Counsell of Neillsville; two sisters, Helen Counsell of Neillsville and Clara Luedtke of Milwaukee; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. She was also predeceased by two brothers and two sisters.
