Beautiful bouquets of cut flowers were presented Mr. and Mrs. Voss by the Lutheran Ladies Aid and the New Holstein Ladies Aid Society.

Rev. Halboth, pastor of the Lutheran Church, of which Mr. and Mrs. Voss have always been faithful members, gave a short talk and read several passages from the Holy Scripture. Several appropriate hymns were sung.

The farm was heavily wooded, Mr. Voss being forced to use an axe and saw to clear enough land for spring seeding. The first years of their married life were beset with hardships and privations. … (the rest of my copy was cut off)"
