Mr. Stoltenow had an old brick pond beyond the west end of Main Street which froze over in winter and was used for ice skating. Also there were patches of ice around the edges of the marsh and many went to the Little Eau Plaine to skate.

There was a skating pond beyond the north end of Wisconsin Street for a time and in later years there has been one near the fire house which is well used by the youngsters.
