Johnson, Elmer W. (26 September 1926 - 26 February 1983)
Elmer W. Johnson, 56, of 610 9th Ave. So., Wisconsin Rapids, died Saturday at
St. Joseph's Hospital.
Visitation and services will be Tuesday at the Hansen Funeral Home, Marshfield.
The Rev. Ronald A. Jansen of Immanuel Lutheran Church will officiate. Burial
will be in Hillside Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Lee Bartl, Paul Stargardt, Gene Pueschner, Edwin Ludovic,
Richard Neustifter, and Paul Waterman.
He was born September 26, 1926 in Owen, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer (Hannah
Reese) Johnson. He received his education in Marshfield schools, graduating from
Marshfield Senior High. He served with the U.S. Navy during World War II for two
years and then moved to Wisconsin Rapids, where he was employed by Consolidated
Paper Co., Inc. for the past 35 years. He married Phyllis Ludovic; they later
separated.
He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Marshfield; a member of the
American Legion Post No. 9 of Wisconsin Rapids; and a member of the Verteran of
Foreign Wars post in Wisconsin Rapids.
Surviving is a son, LeRoy of Wisconsin Rapids and one granddaughter.
