Lau, Marjorie Joan “Margie” (19 July 1932 – 2 February 2021)

Marjorie Joan "Margie" Lau, 88, of rural Stratford, made her journey to heaven on February 2, 2021, surrounded by her children at Marshfield Medical Center.

Margie was born on July 19, 1932 in Neillsville, to Lawrence and Edna (Grimm) Demert. She was a 1950 graduate of Neillsville High School. She was united in marriage to Arthur Lau on May 23,1953 in Neillsville. He died on January 5, 1991.

Following their marriage, they were dairy farmers with their sons in the town of Eau Pleine, Stratford until Arthur's death in 1991. Together with her sons, Margie continued farming until 1998. In addition, Margie shared her talents through various roles at a local grocery/bakery, as an election poll worker, a local jewelry store, and as an office manager. She was a strong and dedicated member and volunteer in her church, holding various offices in the Ladies Aid.

Mom was such an inspiring woman, forever encouraging and kind. She taught us all so much about family and loved her kids, grandkids, and great grandkids with all her heart.

Margie will be deeply missed by so many. She was an excellent cook and avid baker and showed her love through cooking/baking for her family and for countless church events, celebrations, and funerals. She was always up for conversations with anyone and looked forward to the phone ringing each day. She enjoyed playing cards with family and friends and both cheering and scolding the TV watching her favorite sports teams, notably the Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers.

She is survived by her children, Jeffrey (Marilyn) Lau of Stratford, and their children, Paula (Kevin) Johnson and their children, Kennedy and Carter of Woodbury, MN; Scott (Melissa) Lau and their children, Trenton, Degan, Keatin and Lydia of Spencer, and James (Kimberly) Lau and their children Teryn, Regynn and Bodyn of Auburndale; Brenda (Denny) Dillenburg of Marshfield and their children Mandy (Vikash) Patel and their son Silas of DeForest and Andrew (Emily) Dillenburg of Duluth, MN; Randy Lau of Stratford; and Steven Lau (Dana Bernitt) of Auburndale and their son Dylan Bernitt Lau and step grandchildren, Kelli (Rick) Seidl and their children, Jackson and Jaide of Auburndale; Dan (Samantha) Craft and their children, Sydney and Lyndsey of Marshfield. She is further survived by a brother, David Demert of Vancouver, WA.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Art, brother and sister-in-law, Len and Carol Demert, sister, Audrey Meyer and sister-in-law, Joy Demert.

A private service and burial are scheduled; Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family. The family requests no flowers at this time. Condolences may be sent online to www.rembsfh.com
