Lawson, Ralph W. (DeWolf, Ralph) (10 June 1895 - 28 January 1983)

NEILLSVILLE -- Ralph W. Lawson, 87, of Memorial Home died Friday morning at Memorial Hospital. Services will be Monday at Gesche Funeral Home with the Rev. Gary l. Clark of United Church of Christ officiating. Burial will be in the Town of Sherwood Cemetery, Route 1, Pittsville.

Mr. Lawson was born June 10 1895 in the Town of Hewett by the name Ralph DeWolf, son of Mr. and Mrs. Mannin (Manning) DeWolf). In 1896 when he was about 18 months old, he was adopted by Mr. and Mrs. Andrew (Ascenith Germain) Lawson, using the surname Lawson since then. He received his education in the Town of Sherwood, attending Birdland Echo School near his home.

For a time he worked at Gilmanton and on October 24, 1917 he and Nettie Lunderville were married at Alma. They farmed in the Town of Sherwood until 1962, when he retired from farming and moved to the Town of Levis, In 1967 they moved to Neillsville. His wife died July 6, 1973.

Surviving are a half Brother, Robert DeWolf, Minneapolis; a grandson; and two great-grandsons.

Besides his wife he was predeceased by two sons, Howard and Arlo, three brothers, a half brother and a half sister.
