Tyznik, Alan Robert (28 December 1964 – 24 January 2021)

Alan Robert Tyznik, 56, of Thorp, loving husband to Desilyn, and loving father to Lyndsey, Kaitlyn and Alexander, died suddenly on Sunday, January 24, 2021 at Ascension Our Lady of Victory Hospital in Stanley, with his family by his side.

He was born on December 28, 1964 in Stanley, to Roman and Veronica (Romanowski) Tyznik. Alan was the youngest of four siblings, and according to them, he was a verifiable little shit. He attended Thorp Schools, graduating from Thorp High School in 1983. He graduated from District One Technical School in 1985 with an Associate Degree in Agricultural Mechanics.

Alan married the love of his life and best friend, Desilyn Kieser, on September 22, 1990 in Menomonie. Together they have three cherished children: Lyndsey, Kaitlyn and Alexander, all of Thorp.

He spent his life working in the Thorp area as a custom farm operator doing field work, planting and round baling for many farmers in the area. Alan also cash cropped and farmed with his brother Kenneth, and also sold seed corn and soybeans for Renk Seed.

He was a member of the Range Boys Pistol League, the Cast Bullet Association and was an amateur radio operator (KB9WNU).

Alan loved tractor pulling, first with his Allis-Chalmers WC antique tractor with the Cloverland Antique Tractor Club, then later pedal pulling with his kids and the wonderful friends he met over the years. He also enjoyed competitive shooting in the pistol league at Sparkey’s Sport Shop in Colby, and cast bullet shooting with his Uncle Jack. Alan loved hunting and fishing, playing cards, the annual Labor Day camping trip with family and friends, processing chickens, making sausage, and being with his children at all of their various activities. Most of all, he loved his family and friends and was always there with a life lesson, whether they wanted it or not, or to help when he was needed. He is truly loved and will be thoroughly missed.

He is survived by his wife of 30 years and his three children; his brother: Kenneth of Thorp, and his sister: Joanne Telisczak of Gilman; his Aunt Ruth Twardowski of Eau Claire; his father and mother-in-law: Dennis and Joan Kieser of Thorp; his brothers-in-law: Steve Telisczak of Gilman, Mark Kieser of Menomonie, and Craig Kieser of St. Petersburg, FL; nephews and nieces: Ryan (Sara) Szemraj of Wentzville, MO, Sara Telisczak of Medford, Jacob Telisczak of Gilman, Jennifer Telisczak of Bloomington, MN, Reggie Kieser of South St Paul, MN, Sophia Kieser of South St Paul, MN, Will Kieser of St Petersburg, FL and Jane Kieser of St Petersburg, FL; great-nephews: Austin and Mason Szemraj of Wentzville, MO; and many other cousins and very dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; eldest sister: Marg Tyznik on January 1, 2021; nephew: Eric Tyznik; and many other aunts, uncles and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, January 29, 2021 at St. Mary’s Polish National Catholic Church in Lublin, with Rev. Marion Talaga officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 28, 2021 at Thorp Funeral Home, in Thorp, from 4 .p.m. to 8 p.m., and again at the funeral home, on Friday, from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m.
