Alfred Egget recently completed his new house enough to move in for the winter. The structure is cottage style, 30x36 feet, and is made of Portland cement blocks which eh formed with the aid of patent molds, which he purchased last summer. Each black is 10x2 inches and 8 inches high and in cast hollow. These are laid in the wall similar to stone masonry, except that he uses cement in place of plaster, joints being broken as is usual with stone work. The result in the completed building makes a most pleasing appearance.

As to its adaptability to withstand frost penetration or being affected by heaving of the ground, it is claimed to meet every requirement, but of course a winter’s trial will be the best argument, pro or con.

If the work proves all that is claimed for it, Mr. Egget’s enterprise will man a good thing for himself and a new industry for this section of the country. The public at large will be interested on noting how Mr. Egget’s cement house stand the weather and climate.
