Gottschalk, Alvera M. (29 MAY 1931 – 28 OCT 2020)

Alvera M. Gottschalk, age 89, passed away peacefully on Oct. 28, 2020. She was born in Edgar on May 29, 1931, to Michael and Christina (nee Brost) Nosbisch. She spent most of her life in Colby where she married Arnold Gottschalk, the “boy next door”, in 1950. He preceded her in death in 1998.

She is lovingly survived by her children: William Gottschalk of Salinas, Calif., and Holly (Joel) Jacobson of Oconomowoc; grandchildren: Michael (Tiffany) Gottschalk and daughter Abigail of Salinas, Calif., Adel (Craig) Peterson and children, Avery and Clayton of Hidden Valley Lake, Calif.; and Faith Jacobson and Sadie Jacobson of Oconomowoc. She will be dearly missed by many nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold; her parents; sisters: Florentina Nosbisch (Ed Freund) and Lavona (Victor) Reigel; and brothers: Vincent (Bernadine) Nosbisch and Lavern (Pearl) Nosbisch.

Alvera loved cats, crocheting, playing the slots at the casinos and spending time with her family.

Services are pending at this time.

Her family would like to thank the staff at Matthews of Pewaukee for the wonderful care they gave Alvera for the past several years.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Alvera’s name can be made out to: The Alzheimer’s Association of Wisconsin and/or the Clark County Humane Society.
