Seefeld, Dennis N. (19 MAY 1936 – 24 SEP 2020)

Dennis N. Seefeld, age 84, of Colby, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 24, 2020, at the Colonial Center in Center under the tender care of Hope Hospice.

A public visitation was held from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2020, at Riplinger Lutheran Church. A private funeral service was held at 2 p.m. The Rev. Amy Heinz presided. A public graveside service was held at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery following the service. The family respectfully asked anyone who attended to abide by the COVID-19 guidelines by wearing a mask and social distancing. Family and friends can watch the service live on the funeral home’s Facebook page or after service anytime on Facebook or the website. Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home of Colby is assisting the family with arrangements.

Dennis was born on May 19, 1936, the son of Norman and Nola (Schofield) Seefeld in Riplinger. He was united in marriage to Doris Stafford on December 30, 1967, at Riplinger Lutheran Church. Dennis was a dairy farmer, milk hauler, worked at the feed mill in Riplinger and retired from Weathershield in Medford.

Dennis loved working in the woods, hunting and had a huge love of family and animals. He was most proud of the log barn and log home he built himself.

Dennis is survived by his wife of 52 years, Doris of Colby; three children: Rick (Debbie) Hardrath of Abbotsford, Robin (Larry) Hederer of Abbotsford and Kelly (Troy) Wussow of Edgar; 16 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. He is further survived by two siblings: Glenn (Joanne) Seefeld of Spencer and Lynne (Phil) Frane of Willard; brother-in-law, Mark Stafford of Elkhart, Ind.; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Randy Hardrath.
