Mohr, Karlyn Lee (Marriage – 29 December 1990)

Karlyn Lee Mohr and Robert Thomas Brown exchanged marriage vows at 3:00 p.m. December 29 at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Neillsville. Rev. Richard Weber officiated.

Parents of the couple are Kenneth and Karen Mohr of Neillsville and James and Katherine Brown of Baraboo.

The bride given in marriage by her father, wore a white tissue taffeta gown with a portrait neckline, bodice of iridescent beads and pearls, waist peplum flowing down the back of the dress; studded with hand-rolled roses and a full train with beaded appliques on the hemline. She wore a beaded tiara veil with illusion netting and shite satin gathered gauntlet.

She carried a cascade bouquet of white poinsettias and red and white rose buds accented with silver lame’ mini poinsettias, iridescent baby’s breath, holly and ivory leaves.

Maid of Honor was Kari Mohr, sister of the bride, of Eau Claire. Bridesmaids were Ruth Anding of Neillsville, Michelle Heiman of Waterloo, Marlis Wetzel of La Crosse, and the flower girl was Jennifer Steele of Baraboo.

The bridesmaids wore black velvet gowns with gathered bodices, and bell sleeves. They had full red satin skirts with hi-lo hemlines with black gathered gauntlet. The bridesmaids carried cascade bouquets of single white poinsettia and red rose buds accented with silver lame’, mini poinsettias, iridescent baby’s breath, decorative twig sprays, ivy, holly leaves, and foil onion grass.

The groom was attired in a black tuxedo with tails, white cummerbund and bow tie. His attendants were Kurt Volz of Madison, best man; and groomsmen Ronald Brown of Woodbury, MN, Kenneth Wetzel of Neillsville, Garry Zellmer of Baraboo, and ring bearer was Andrew Mohr of Neillsville. The groomsmen were attired in black tuxedos with tails and red cummerbunds and bow ties.

Ushers were Richard Steele of Baraboo and Dean Wetzel of Forest Grove, OR.

Music at the ceremony was performed by Sharon Nemitz, organist, and a duet by Ed Schoenherr and Bev Carney.

The reception and dance was held at Fannie’s Supper Club, Neillsville.

The bride is a 1986 graduate of Neillsville High School and a 1990 graduate of UW-Eau Claire. She is a Lead Therapist at the Homme Home for Boys in Wittenberg. Her husband is a 1981 graduate of Baraboo High School. He is employed as a Heavy Equipment Operator at Faulks Bros. Construction, Waupaca.

A honeymoon trip is planned for August.
