Fitzmaurice, Helen (22 March 1900 - 2 February 1982)
HUMBIRD - Mrs. Helen a. Fitzmaurice, 81, Humbird, died Tuesday at Black River
Falls Memorial Hospital in Black River Falls. Death followed a brief illness.
Services will be Saturday at the Gesche Funeral Home, Neillsville, with the Rev.
Donald King of Osseo officiating. Burial will follow in the town of Mentor
Cemetery at Humbird.
The former Helen A. Putman was born March 22, 1900 in the town of Mentor, Clark
County, to Mr. and Mrs. Ernest (Clara Bangel) Putman and received her education
in the Humbird area. She was married to Lewis S. Fitzmaurice May 29, 1915 at
Menomonie. He died August 1, 1969.
After their marriage they lived in Menomonie to the Humbird area in 1930.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Virgil (Dorothy) Jinkerson, Humbird, and
Mrs. George (June) Michels, Alma Center; a son, Dale, Janesville; four sisters,
Mrs. Marie McSchooler, Westby, Mrs. Dorothy Bohl, Reedsburg, Mrs. Margaret
Hunter, Omro, and Mrs. John (Clara) Primus, Wind Lake; a brother, Joseph Putman,
Westby; 21 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and 13
great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a daughter, Violetta "Midge",
four brothers and a sister.
