Anna Kotnile was married to Frank Zevnik in Lorain, Ohio, They had four
children: Anton, Frank, Mary and Ann. Mr. Zevnik passed away. Anna then married
John Zaller in 1906. He came to Willard in 1910 or 1911 and bought a lot where
the former Perko store is and also 60 acres across from John Petkovsek. On the
lot in Willard he built a store which he operated with the help of his stepsons
Anton and Frank Zevnik until 1914 when the rest of the family arrived from Ohio.
John bought 80 acres from Clairs and moved into a small shanty which was there
and gradually added on and built a four bedroom house. This house burned down on
April 17, 1931. That same year they built the present house on that land.
They had three children, John, Joseph and Eva. Joe (Fuzz) married Roselyn
Laykovich and farmed with his parents. Mr. Zaller passed away July 16, 1957.
John married Mary Plautz and passed away on December 25, 1952 in Willard. Eva
married John Sever- son (deceased) and lives in Willard. Mary Zevnik married
Anton Debevec. Both are deceased. Walter and Edith Backus (a granddaughter) now
live in the house.
