Joseph F. Henke, a well-known resident of this city passed away last Friday afternoon at his home, 415 Huron Street. He had suffered from an illness for more than a year.

Mr. Henke, who was 49 years of age, was a native of Thorp, Wisconsin. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ida Henke and three small children, Lewis, Ina, and Beulah. During the last fourteen years he operated a large farm near Opheim, in Valley County.

His three brothers arrived in the city from the east on Sunday and the funeral of deceased was held on Tuesday morning from St. Leo’s Catholic Church. Mr. Henke was a good father and husband and a man esteemed by all who knew him. His death is a distinct loss to the community. A host of friends extend their sympathies to the bereaved family.
