DORCHESTER - The resignation of Morris Lavins from the Dorchester Village Board was accepted when the board met last week.

Lavin says he is retiring because he built a new home outside the village limits.

The board decided to fill Lavins' seat by nominating an extra person at the village's caucus, scheduled for March 1. Other nominations are needed for seats held by Adolph Gorke, Norman Seipp and Clarence Geiger.

Whoever is elected to Lavins' seat will hold it for one year, according to Judy Robida, village clerk.
