Ule, Edward R. (9 AUG 1925 – 2 AUG 2020)

Edward R. Ule, 94, Eau Claire, formerly of Willard, died on Sunday, Aug. 2, 2020, at Mayo Clinic Health Systems in Eau Claire. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., on Tuesday, Aug. 25, at Holy Family Catholic Cemetery in Willard, with Rev. Leo Johnson officiating.

Edward R. Ule was born on Aug. 9, 1925, in Willard, to Joseph and Mary (nee Lovko) Ule. He was raised on the family farm in Willard and received his education at North Willard School. After graduation, he began farming on the home farm on the east side of the mound in Willard. After selling the farm, Ed completed a correspondence course with the DeVry University of Chicago. He then settled in Minnesota where he attended the University of Minnesota, graduating in 1982 with a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering. Ed worked for MACO Electric and later for Honeywell, where he retired after 26 years. Upon his retirement, he moved to Angels Camp, Calif., where he built a home. He worked for MCM laboratories traveling to many areas including France, Paris and China. Ed enjoyed gardening and planted many fruit trees in his yard. He enjoyed the outdoors and spent time skiing in Colorado, mountain climbing in California, and was a ham radio operator, which kept him in touch with his friends.

Survivors include his sister, Alice Braun of Colby, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother: Joseph Ule; and three sisters: Matilda Garner, Olga Hribar and Mary Finstad.
