Krohn, Bert C. (11 March 1890 - 29 November 1981)

SPENCER - Bert C. Krohn, 91, of 410 W. Main st., Spencer, died Saturday at St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield, where he had been a patient since November 20.

Services will be Tuesday at the First Presbyterian Church in Marshfield with the Rev. Virgil E. Taylor, Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in West Spencer Cemetery. Friends may call at the Rux Funeral Home, Spencer.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jim Schoolman, Eugene Endries, Donald Dres, Walter Gessert, John Miller and Ed Reigle.

Mr. Krohn was born March 11, 1890 in Manitowoc County to Mr. and Mrs. Charles (Sophia) Krohn. He was educated at Whitelaw and was a cheesemaker there prior to his marriage to the former Anna Freidenberger, April 29, 1913 in the town of Franklin, Manitowoc County. They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1963.

The couple farmed for two years after their marriage in Whitelaw and then farmed four miles south of Spencer until coming to the village of Spencer in 1944. His wife died September 27, 1965.

He served on the town of Spencer board, the Cameron School Board and the Chili Milk Pool and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Miss Viola Krohn, Spencer, and Mrs. Donald (Laura) Schlemem, Milwaukee; two sons, Clarence, Spencer, and Walter, Route 2, Spencer; five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by his parents, two sons and two sisters.
