Spenser H.S. Rockets Girls Basketball

SPENCER -- Despite the loss of nine letter-winners, including second team all-conference pick, Ann Freeman, Spencer High School veteran coach Linda Fenske is optimistic about her team's prospects for the 1981-1982 basketball season.

"We're very young this years but we may surprise some people" she says.

The Rocket girls, chalking up a 10-8 conference record last season, have only two returning letter-winners.

They are 5-8 center-forward Marcia Christiansen and 5-7 center-forward Deb Neslon.

Two 5-4 seniors will join them, forward Brenda Beyer and guard Sarah Graves. The rest of the team included junior guards Tracy Karau, Jeanne Krasselt and Janese Reckner, sophomore guard Sheri Elsinger, and freshmen forward Stacey Stephens and guard Kim Woodkey.
