FFA Alumni Hosts Banquet (34th – 2 March 2020)

Saturday night, March 2, was a big night for area FFA Alumni members—gathering for the 34th Annual FFA Banquet at Mesquite Pub and Grill. Hosted by the FFA Alumni Officers, President Amy Penterman, Vice President Mike Lewien, Secretary Mary Fazendin, and Treasurer Kim Lewien, the local chapter welcomed the room full of members before sitting down to a delicious dinner.

As a part of the evening’s entertainment, a few of Thorp School’s FFA members, including Shelby Hurst, Ashley Fazendin, Chelsea Neisius, Jacob Behm and Jacob Carroll, gave a demonstration of Parliamentary Procedures--an event the team had competed in and earned the opportunity of competing at the Sectional Competition later this month.

FFA Alumni President Amy Penterman then gave a short presentation on the 2013 Farmer of the Year- Dave and Connie Gulcynski--and awarded the couple for their accomplishments. Secretary Mary Fazendin later took the floor, presenting Financial Service Officer at United FCS, Ryan Renderman, the Friend of the Alumni award for the local branch’s assistance throughout the year.

As the banquet drew to a close, both Amy Penterman and FFA President Jacob Behm gave presentations of the year in review before the door prizes were handed out.
