Haas, Edna (26 March 1900 - 10 August 1981)

UNITY -- Mrs. Edna Haas, 81, Route 1. died Monday at St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield. Services will be Thursday at Zion Lutheran Church, Colby with burial in Colby Memorial Cemetery. The Rev. Robin O. Fink, pastor, will officiate. Friends may call at Rux-Lulloff Funeral Home, Colby.

The former Edna Scheelk was born March 26, 1900 in Fenwood and received her education there. She was married to William Haas October, 23, 1918 in Fenwood. He died September 1, 1976.

They resided in Taylor and Clark counties before moving to their farm near Unity. They retired from farming in 1950. They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary.

Survivors include three sons, Art Haas of Abbotsford, and George and William Haas Jr., both of Unity, seven daughters, Mrs. William (Rose) Skwarski of Chicago, Mrs. Howard (Helen) Damrow of Manitowish Waters, Mrs. Jerome (Elaine) Schultz and Mrs. Eugene (Irene) Smazal, both of Colby, Mrs. Howard (Ella) Huckbody of Wausau, Mrs. Harold (Myrtle) Baumgartner of Cook, Minnesota and Mrs. Bruce (Doris) Wussow of Edgar; 51 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Henry Scheelk of Colby, Lorence Scheelk of Nichols and Martin Scheelk of Fenwood; and six sisters, Mrs. Emma Radtke, Mrs. Olga Tobalsky and Mrs. Gilman (Leona) Treu, all of Wausau, Mrs. Ralph (Martina) Randt of Millington, Michigan, Mrs. Lorentina Busse of Abbotsford and Mrs. Alfred (Amanda) Luedtke of Oshkosh.

Besides her husband, she was predeceased by one son, one grandchild, two sisters and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Scheelk.

Pallbearers will be Woodrow Roman, Roland Brehm, Herbert Hederer, Bernard Johnson, Willard Becherer, Dale Resi, Delphin Dommer, Arnold Krueger, Leo Huhn and Paul Brandt.
