Brill, Mary M. (30 SEP 1898 – 3 OCT 1965)

Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Magdalena Brill, route 1, Colby, are being held this morning, October 7, 1965 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Colby. The Rev. John B. Pinion will officiate at the requiem high mass at 10:30 a.m.. Assisting are the Rev. Lambert Schommer as deacons and the Rev. Ambrose Blenker as sub-deacon.

Interment will be in St. Mary’s Parish Cemetery.. Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Lulloff Funeral Home, Colby.

Mrs. Brill died Sunday afternoon, October 3, 1965 at St. Joseph’s Hospital at Marshfield, after a lingering illness. She was 67 years old.

A Christian Mothers rosary was said Tuesday evening and a general rosary was said Wednesday evening at the church.

Mrs. Brill was born Mary Magdalena Hoffman September 30, 1898 in the town of Unity (Clark Co.). After the age of six, her parents moved to the town of Hull (Marathon Co.). She was married to Theodore Brill October 22, 1919 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Colby. They farmed from that time south of Cherokee in the town of Hull.

She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, the Christian Mothers Society, and the Women’s Catholic Order of Foresters.

Survivors include her husband, Theodore, two sons, Edward Brill, Colby and Joseph Brill, route 1, Colby; six daughters, Sister M. Theoline (Clara) Guttenberg, Iowa, Sister M. Jolita (Josephine), La Crosse, Sister M. Clarone (Elsie), La Crosse, Mrs. Robert (Theresa) Bergs, Milwaukee, Mrs. Victor (Agnes) Bergs, Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Mrs. Alyn (Rita) Sweet, Milwaukee; three brothers, George Hoffman, Colby, Tony Hoffman, Stratford, and Ed Hoffman, Boulder City, Nevada; one sister, Mrs. Lambert Schommer, Marshfield, and 17 grandchildren.
