Mergener, Mr./Mrs. Joe (55th – 29 June 1976)
Mr. and Mrs. Joe Mergener, Merrillan, recently observed their 55th wedding
Anniversary. Mergener and Lena Leiting were married June 29, 1921, in Woodstock,
Il. They were attended by her sister, Grace Leiting, and Tom Fitzmaurice. They
resided in the Chicago area until 1954, when they moved to Merrillan to operate
a restaurant. The Mergener’s have three sons: John of Merrillan; Robert of
Melrose Park, Il.; and George of Knobnoster, Mo.; and 12 grandchildren
