Jollivette, Mr./Mrs. Harris (Golden – 30 June 1976)

One-hundred twenty-five relatives and friends attended an open house to celebrate of the 50th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Harris Jollivette at their home, five miles northeast of Greenwood.

The event was hosted by their children, who, with 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, were present.

Mrs. Jollivette wore a corsage of blue and white carnations and her husband had a white carnation boutonniere.

Harris Jollivette and Beulah Robertson were married June 30, 1926, in the Grace Methodist Church parsonage with the Rev. T.O. Thompson officiating.

Harris Jollivette, son of Isadore and Maria Jollivette was born in La Crosse on April 6, 1901. He was educated in the La Crosse schools. He came to Greenwood with his parents in 1941 and they settled on the present farm. The former Beulah Robertson, daughter of Macellan and Louise Robertson was born September 11, 1909 in Greenwood and received her education in the Greenwood schools.

After their marriage they farmed in Riplinger, Curtiss and Abbotsford before they bought the Jollivette homestead in 1947. They retired from farming in 1959. They sold the farm land a year ago and continue to live in the house on Route 3, 5 miles northeast of Greenwood.

Mr. Jollivette served on the Town of Beaver board for 5 years. He is in fair health and likes to go on trips and fishing.

Mrs. Jollivette enjoys sewing, quilting, rug making and fishing, she is in good health.

The honored couple are the parents of 3 daughters, Mrs. John (Geraldine) Brown of La Crosse, Mrs. Herman (Maydell) Hilgers of Racine, and Mrs. Carl (Mary Lou) Ditto of La Crosse. They also have 10 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

A three tiered decorated wedding cake made by Ruth Pozanski, served as centerpiece on the table for the meal served.

A grandchild, Kathy Hilgers was in charge of the guest book, which she presented to her grandparents.

The flowers were a gift from three great-grandchildren, Cliff, Tary and Geraldine Brown.

Besides their three daughters and their families and grandchildren present were Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Koster and son Thomas and Mr. and Mrs. Norman Rautio and son John, and Sandra Brown all of Milwaukee: Mr. and Mrs. Charles Brown and three children and Carol Brown all of La Crosse. Other relatives and friends came from Manhattan, Kansas; Mesa, Arizona; Holcombe, Abbotsford, Medford, Marshfield, and surrounding area.

The honored couple received many gifts and congratulatory messages.
