Pepke, Emma (21 AUG 1881 – 10 SEP 1971)

Mrs. John Pepke, 90, died at 10:10 a.m. Friday, September 10, 1971 in Merrill Hospital. She had been in ill health for the past six months.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Monday in Trinity Lutheran Church in Merrill. The Rev. Stephen E. Koenig officiated, with burial in Snow Hill Cemetery, Town of Scott.

The former Emma Kniess was born August 21, 1881 in the Town of Hamburg, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. August Kniss. She was married in Hamburg on November 14, 1903, to John Pepke. He died May 7, 1963.

Surviving are three sons, Erwin, Douglas Street, Merrill, Arnold, Backus, Minnesota, and Otto, Route 1, Athens; seven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
