Hoffman, George (2 September 1902-31 March 1981)
ABBOTSFORD-- George L. Hoffman, 78, died of an apparent heart attack Tuesday at
his home.
The funeral will be Saturday at St. Bernard's Catholic Church, the Rev. Emil B.
Hodnik officiating. Abbotsford Public Cemetery will be the burial site. Friends
may call at the Maurina Funeral Home.
Mr. Hoffman was born September 2, 1902 in Marshfield. He attended Marshfield and
Dorchester school. On April 28, 1930 in Water Valley, Mississippi, he and Dorcia
Rusk were married.
He farmed in the Dorchester area before moving here. He worked for different
feed companies and also owned and operated several taverns here. He later
purchased a silo business. He retired in 1965. His wife died June 27, 1979.
A member of St. Bernard's Catholic Church, he is survived by six sons, Thomas of
Abbotsford, Richard of Durham, North Carolina, Bernard of Lewiston, Minnesota,
Theodore and Kurt, both of Milwaukee, and William of Appleton;two brothers,
Alfred of Marshfield and Edmund of Colby; two sisters, Mrs. Joe (Margaret)
Hiebsch of Owen and Mrs. Emil (Mary) Stasek of Owen; 26 grandchildren; and
great-grandchildren.
Two daughters, Maxine Feind and Lynette Perry, three brothers and one sister are
deceased.
