Briski, Robert (11 APR 1926 – 13 MAY 2020)

Robert Briski, 94, Greenwood, died on Wednesday, May 13, 2020, at his home, surrounded by his family. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Robert Briski was born on April 11, 1926, in the town of Mead, rural Greenwood, the son of Matt and Katarina (nee Zagar) Briski. He was raised on the family farm and received his education in area schools. After completing his education, Bob remained on the farm and worked with his father. He married Taimi O. Salo on Nov. 16, 1949, at the Lutheran parsonage in Greenwood. They eventually took over the operation of his parents’ farm. Bob and Taimi
farmed until 2004, at which time they retired, sold the farm, and moved into Greenwood. He had many interests, but especially enjoyed hunting, 4-wheeling and pitching horseshoes.

Bob will be dearly missed by his wife, Taimi, of Greenwood; his children: Joyce Alger of Thorp, Richard (Donna) Briski of Pine City, Minn., Harold (Sheila) Briski of Withee, Robert Briski of Thorp, Jim (Patty) Briski of Greenwood, Ronald (Chris) Briski of Greenwood, and Betsy Briski of Greenwood; 25 grandchildren; 46 greatgrandchildren; one sister: Dolores Lendosky of Greenwood; three sisters-in-law: Della Briski of Altoona, Vivian Briski of Greenwood, and Florence Briski of Greenwood; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his son: Patrick Mark Briski; one daughter-in-law, Anne Briski; one son-in-law, Allen Alger; six brothers: Matt Jr., Tony, Frank, Ted, Albert, and John; and six sisters: Mary Malnar, Elizabeth Stimac, Julia Vivoda, Rose Malaszuk, Angeline Gulczinski and Kay Gulczinski.
