Metcalf, Kenneth O. (24 September 1900 – 12 May 1976)

A retired Town of York farmer, Kenneth O. Metcalf, 75, of Rt. 1 Neillsville, died suddenly Wednesday, May 2, in Neillsville. Funeral services were held Saturday from the Georgas-Gesche Funeral Home with the Rev. Gary Clark of the United Church of Christ officiating. Burial was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.

Kenneth Metcalf, son of Parker and Julia Northup Metcalf, was born September 24, 1900, in Phillips. While still a young child he moved to Clark County with his parents. He attended the Forman School.

His marriage to the former Elsie Rhead took place March 11, 1925, in Neillsville. After the death of his wife on April 8, 1963, Mr. Metcalf retired from active farming.

Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Lewis (Elsie) Kaudy of Greenwood and Mrs. Sadie Miller of Neillsville; and one brother, Leon Metcalf of Neillsville.

Metcalf, Kenneth O. (24 September 1900 - 12 May 1976)

Funeral services were held May 15 from the Georgas-Gesche Funeral Home for Kenneth O. Metcalf, 75, of Rt. 1 Neillsville, who died May 12. The Rev. Gary Clark of the United Church of Christ officiated, and burial was followed in the Neillsville City Cemetery.

Pallbearers were LeRoy Lezotte, Clifford Roehl, Harold Embke, Milton Schoenfeld, Richard Schmidt and Franklin Boh.

Mary Peters sang “In the Garden” and “What a Friend.” Beulah Zoutendam was the accompanist.

Among those who attended the services were the following from out of town Mr. and Mrs. John Rhead, Mrs. Opel Spangler, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Rhead, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Rhead and Mr. and Mrs. Edward Thomas, Beloit; Mr. and Mrs. Alwin Rhead and Mr. and Mrs. Oakley Rhead, Millston; Marie Conway, Burbank, Il.; Elaine Sennatt and Bobby, Colgate; Irving Metcalf, Janesville; Mr. and Mrs. Lavern Metcalf and Lori, Villa Park, Il.; Mr. and Mrs. James Kern and Patty, Sparta; and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Stimson, La Crosse.
