Bailey, Chester (19 Apr 1890 – 3 May 1976)

Once again the grim reaper has taken one of our older citizens, Chester Bailey, 85. Mr. Bailey died May 3, at the Family Heritage Home, Black River Falls, where he had lived. He is survived by his wife Bernice, and four grandchildren.

Mr. Bailey was a farmer and the last few years he and his wife had specialized in strawberries. He was buried in the Mentor Cemetery, May 6. The Rev. Ralph Walker of Augusta officiated.

Among those attending the services at Hixton were Mr. and Mrs. George Dimmitt, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Laffe, Mr. and Mrs. Archie Kirby, Mrs. Virgil Jinkerson, Gladys Lightfoot, Maude Newton, Kate Dignin, Gloria Nibbe, Mr. and Mrs. Perle Pickett, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Fitzmaurice and Mrs. Frida Zerbel.
