Pozega, M/M Steve (Home Fire - 1976)

Neillsville volunteer firemen arrived to late to save the home of Mr. and Mrs. Steve Pozega, rural Neillsville, last Friday afternoon.

The home, completely destroyed by the blaze, was recently moved into by the Pozega family. Located north of the Neillsville mounds, the home was entirely in flames just minutes after the blaze was first discovered.

Home alone with her four-year old son, Mrs. Pozega noticed smoke in the kitchen and heard her son enter the house telling of flames on two sides of the house. She and her son left the home, grabbing, only her purse.

A neighbor apparently turned the alarm in to the fire department. The Pozega family, besides losing their home, lost all of their possessions in the fire.
