Stewart, Cynthia (“Who’s Who” – 1974/1975)

Cynthia Stewart, a senior at Greenwood High School, was recently notified that she is to be featured in the ninth annual edition of “Who’s Who Among American High School Students, 1974-1975,” she will also compete for one of ten scholarship awards funded by the publishers.

Cynthia is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Stewart of Greenwood. She is active in her church choir, in the school’s drama club and pep band and in cheerleading and teaches baton twirling.

Cynthia, who played leading roles in Greenwood High School’s productions of “Oklahoma” and “Sound of Music,” presently holds the titles of Miss Clark County Fairest of the Fair and Miss Greenwood. She was sponsored by the Greenwood American Legion unit as Greenwood High School’s representative to Badger Girls’ State in Madison.

The recipient of numerous first and second place medals in band and orchestra contests, Cynthia has also received awards in various other activities such as ballet, drama, choir, pageants and talent contest. She lettered in track during her junior year in high school, was the winner of a $100 bond in a telephone company essay contest and was listed as a semi-finalist candidate-at-large in the 1973 Miss Teenage America pageant.

Cynthia attended schools in Amarillo, Tx., before entering Greenwood High School in her sophomore year. She is on the school’s honorable mention list. After graduation, she plans to attend the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and major in accounting.
