Raymond “Ray” Gebert (15 Jul 1930 – 4 Oct 2001)

Former Dorchester area resident Raymond “Ray” Gebert. 71, Columbus, Ohio, died Thursday, Oct. 4 at his home.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, Oct. 9 at St Paul Catholic Church in Westerville, Ohio. Pallbearers were Kelly, Kurt and Kelly Jr. Gebert, Rick and Seth Maze, Jarrod Rapalje and Cameren Sholl.

Raymond Gebert was born July 15, 1930 to the late Henry and Esther (Rhyner) Gebert. He attended St. Louis Catholic School in Dorchester and Dorchester High School. He was a retired real estate agent.

Survivors include six daughters, Karla (Jim) Rapalje, Fayetteville, N.C., Julie (Sam) Minico, Columbus, Kristin (Rick) Maze, Sonoma, Calif., Jayne (Doug) Sholl, Etna, Ohio, Joan (Gary) Geisler, Fredericksburg, Va., and Jean Gebert, Westerville, Ohio; two son, Kurt (Gayle), Green Bay, and Kelly (Beth), Westerville; three sisters, Jeanette (John) Robida, Dorchester, Luanne (Pete) Wanke, Medford, and Greta Ross, Neillsville; 26 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Lucille, and a brother, Clarence.
