Hoeser, George (4 October 1857-2 March 1937)

LOYAL---A requiem mass for George Hoeser, 79, town of York farmer, who died March 2 after having been ill health for some time, was held March 5 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Loyal. The Rev. A. J. Aurit officiated and burial took place in the parish cemetery.

Pallbearers were Joseph Schmidt, George Scheckelmann, Bernard Portz, Tony Spangler, Herman Magadenz, and Albert Meyer.

Among the out of town relatives and friends who attended the funeral were Mrs. Joseph Schuld, Mrs. Joseph Breitbach and son, Billy, Circle, Montana; Mrs. Guy Stephens and Miss Sophia Hoeser, Fort Peck, Montana; Mr. and Mrs. Vitalis Dougherty, Pine River, Minnesota; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hoeser, Neillsville; and Mrs. Joseph Goetz, Beaver Dam.

Mr. Hoeser was born in Bavaria, Germany, on October 4, 1857, and came to this country at the age of 22 years. For two years after his arrival in the United States, he lived at Jefferson, later coming to Clark County and purchasing the farm on which he resided until the time of his death. He was married at Neillsville to Miss Barbara Goetz, who survives him.

Surviving him besides his widow are 10 children, Mrs. Joseph (Rose) Schuld, Mrs. Joseph (Bertha) Breitbach, and Mrs. John (Mary) Breitbach, Mrs. Vitalis (Anna) Dougherty, Mrs. Guy (Theresa) Stephens, Sophia and Catherine Hoeser and Frank, Joseph, and Lenus Hoeser. One sister, and 24 grandchildren also survive.
