Morris Bruce Lavin (1 Jan 1944 – 10 Jun 2006)

In Loving Memory of Morris Bruce Lavin, 62, Village of Dorchester, who was called to his heavenly home on Saturday, June 10, 2006.

Morris Bruce Lavin was born on January 1, 1944, in the Town of Holway, Medford, the son of Edward and Helen (Solie) Lavin. Morris graduated from Medford High School in 1962, and enlisted in the United States Army serving in Germany for three years. He and Ann Rhodes were united in marriage on July 26, 1966. They resided in Spooner, Medford, and have lived in Dorchester until the time of his death.

Morris worked for 4S-Glass in Medford and the Dorchester Pole Yard. For the last 22 years he was employed by J. Bauer Trucking as a truck driver, then as a marketing manager. He was a past member of the Dorchester Lions and served on the Dorchester Village Board.

He is survived by the love of his life, Ann, his wife of 40 years. They have nine wonderful children. Cheri (Tom) Stevens, Dorchester, Randy (Nancy), Dorchester, Kurt (Jill) Wisconsin Rapids, Larry, Athens, Diane (Dean) Faude, Dorchester, Roxanne (Tom) Hovind, Andover, Minn., Greg, Green Lake, Glenn (Lynn), Abbotsford, and Michelle (Rich) Davis of Plover.

He loved his grandkids and was so very proud of them all; Kath and Jess (Jeff), Heather and Tiger, Tara and Elizabeth, Ken, Lynn, Penny and JP, Missy and Monte, Ryan and Ashley, Alyssa, Amber and Jake, Mac(kenzie) and Garrett. He was also proud grandpa of 12 great-grand kids.

Morris had seven siblings, Howard (Gwen), Stetsonville, Paul (Susie), Elkhorn, Louetta (Leonard Stauske) Athens, Ralph (Diane), Stevens Point, and Gail (Tom) Hessing, Burnsville, Minn. He is also survived by a sister-in-law, Joanne, Medford; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Helen Lavin; two brothers, Wayne and Richard; and son-in-law, Tom Stevens.

Morris will be so very missed by all who knew him.

Funeral services for Morris were held at 11:00a.m., Wednesday, June 14, 2006 at Zion Lutheran Church in Colby. Reverend Mark Neumann presided. Morris was honored with full military rites by the Dorchester American Legion Post #517 with inurnment in Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Town of Holway, Taylor County.

Visitation with family and friends was at Zion Lutheran Church in Colby on Wednesday form 9:30 a.m. until time of services at 11:00 a.m.
