Dean N. Lindau (19 Dec 1955 – 11 April 2014)

Dean N. Lindau, 58, Medford, died Friday, April 11, 2014 under the care of Hope Hospice, Memorial Nursing and Rehab Center, Medford.

Mr. Lindau was born December 19, 1955 in Medford to Marleen (Gruny) Lindau, Medford, and the late Norman Lindau. He was a 1974 graduate of Medford High School.

His marriage to Joan M. Dietsche took place on September 20, 1980, inn Sand Creek.

After high school he earned a bachelor’s degree in business and marketing from UW-Eau Claire. He went on to work as a sales representative in the Twin Cities and Eau Claire area from 1979 to 1987. The family moved to the Marshfield area, where he worked as a sales/provider relations representative for Security Health Plan from 1987 to 1999. They moved to the Medford area where he worked at the Hedlund Agency from 2000 to 2007.

Lindau enjoyed coaching, and received the Marshfield Youth Baseball coach of the year award. He was fan of the Brewers, Packers, and Badgers. He enjoyed sailing, was an avid downhill skier, and enjoyed both hunting and fishing while facing the challenges of Huntington’s Disease.

Mr. Lindau was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Medford.

He is survived by his wife, Joan “Joanie” Lindau of Medford; children, Michael (Lynn) Lindau of Medford and Kyle (Britney) Lindau of Eau Claire; and one sister, Lori Denzine of Menomonie.

A service took place on Tuesday, April 15, 2014, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Medford, with the Rev. Kelly Taylor-Schaus and Rev. Nancy Amacher presiding.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Dean’s family which will be designated at a later date to the Huntington’s Disease Society of America, Hope Hospice of Medford, and St Paul’s Lutheran Church of Medford. Hemer Funeral Service of Medford and Rib Lake is assisting the family with arrangements.
