Melanie Kananen and Douglas Woodworth were married July 27, 1972 in Madison, Wisconsin.

Parents are Mr. and Mrs. W.C. Kananen of Madison, and Mr. and Mrs. Edward Woodworth of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.).

The bride graduated from Beloit College, and is doing graduate work in anthropology at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. She is a Research Assistant for the Center for Climatic Research at the UW. The groom graduated Phi Betta Kappa, Summa Cum Laude, from Beloit College in April. He will begin graduate work in Human Genetics at the UW this fall.

The couple will make their home at 2309 Willard Avenue in Madison.
