Lato, Joan Marie (8 JUL 1972)

Reverend Will Grelle performed the 1:30 p.m. marriage ceremony for Joan Marie Lato and Fred Michael Petke on Saturday, July 8th, 1972 at St. Hedwig's Church, Thorp. Miss Mary Lato played the organ.

Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Lato, Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), and Mr. and Mr.s Ted Petke, Withee (Clark Co.).

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a white floor length bridal gown of imported Chantilly lace, fashioned with bishop sleeves and a portrait neckline, sort gathers styled the semi-bouffant skirt. Lace bordered the "Madonna" mantilla of sheer bridal illusion sweeping into a cathedral train. She carried white carnations and red roses.

Miss Jean Lato was maid of honor, with Miss Gloria Sopiarz and Miss Patsy Petke as bridesmaids. They wore floor length dresses of orchid chiffon featuring bishop sleeves and a semi-scoop neckline. White Venice lace complemented the empire styling. Each carried purple carnations and whit emums.

Ron Niznik was the groom's best man, with Ted Lato and Randy Kadolph as groomsmen. Ushers were John Fijalkiewicz and Dan Hull.

A reception followed the ceremony at the Quonset Hall, with a dinner at five p.m. and dance from eight to twelve.

The bride is a graduate of Thorp High School and the groom of Withee High School, and is employed at Liberty Homes in Dorchester.

After a wedding trip to Ontario, Canada they will reside in Withee, Wisconsin.
