Schewing, Willard (26 June 1916 – 5 November 1975)

Willard Schewing, 59, Rt. 1 Greenwood, died early Wednesday, November 5, at St. Joseph Hospital, Marshfield, where he was admitted the previous day.

Mr. Schewing was born June 20, 1916, on the family farm near Greenwood, which is known for an outstanding herd of registered Guernsey cattle. He graduated from the Greenwood High School in 1935.

Mr. Schewing was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, a lifetime member of the American Guernsey cattle club and of the National Rifle Association.

Surviving is a sister, Mrs. Thomas (Jean) Stieglitz, of Santa Barbara, Ca.

Funeral services were held Saturday from Grace United Methodist Church. The Rev. Eugene Antrim officiated. Burial was made in the Greenwood Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Frank Pakiz, Ray Gregorich, Dale Horn, Arnold Thomas, Don Tieman and Henry Nielson.

Gary Schultz sang a solo, “The old Rugged Cross,” and a quartet composed of Gary Schultz, the Rev. Eugene Antrim, Dean Stieglitz and James Antrim, sang, “Looking This Way,” and “Precious Memories,” with Miss Berdell Neilsen as organist.
