Johnson, Carl H. (20 JUL 2890 – 7 JUN 1972)
Carl H. Johnson, age 81, resident of 135 8th Avenue, Stanley (Chippewa Co.,
Wis.), died at Victory Memorial Hospital Wednesday afternoon.
He was born in Dwight, Illinois on July 20, 1890, son of John O. and Dorothea
Johnson. He moved with his parents to Minnesota and went to Stanley in 1899 and
settled in the Town of Worde (Clark Co., Wis.) On April 28, 1926 he was united
in marriage to Vera Carmien in Stanley. After their marriage they farmed in the
Town of Worden until 1954, when they moved to Stanley and have lived there
since.
He is survived by his wife, Vera; two sons, Fred of Mosinee, Wisconsin, and Carl
E. of Merrill; one daughter, Mrs. Cleve (Jane) Shilts of Boyd; five
grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Elsie Bye of Stanley, and two brothers, Ole and
Hans Johnson of Stanley. He was preceded in death by three brothers and one
sister.
Funeral services were held Saturday, 1:30 p.m., at Our Savior's Lutheran Church,
with the Reverend Norman Sifferath officiating. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery,
Stanley.
