Elsinger, Shelby J. (Marriage – 20 September 1975)

Miss Shelby J. Elsinger and Ralph F. Schmitt, Jr., were married September 20 in a 1:30 p.m. ceremony performed at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Loyal. The Rev. Chester Osowski officiated, assisted by the Rev. Jerry McDonald, cousin of the groom. A reception followed at the Loyal American Legion Hall.

Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. John Elsinger, Loyal, and Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Schmitt, Sr., Rt. 1 Granton.

The bride’s gown of white sheer was fashioned with an oval neckline, brocaded bodice and sheer bell sleeves rimmed in brocade. Her circular veil also featured brocade trim. She carried an orchid encircled by red and white roses, gardenias and lilies of the valley with streamers and red rosebuds as she was presented in marriage by her father.

Pamela Elsinger, Loyal, was the maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Mary Tesmer of Brookpark, Oh, Judy Elsinger of Marshfield and Joli Fisher of Spencer. Their gowns in shades of blue, yellow, peach and violet, respectively, were topped by matching floral jackets trimmed in white lace. Each carried a bouquet of lilies of the valley with carnations tinted to match her gown.

Serving as bestman was Eugene Pachal, Wausau. Warren Tesmer of Brookpark, Oh., David Cole of Loyal and Albert Schmitt of Granton acted as groomsmen. Ushers were William Erickson, Madison, and Randy Meyer, Loyal.

Shane Elsinger, Spencer was the ringbearer and Lisa Sauber, Sycamore, Il., the flowergirl.

Jody Schoonover was the organist. Sharon Schoonover, Diane Anderegg and Judy Zettler sang.

The bride was honored at two prenuptial showers, one given by Karen Nelson and other by Pam Meyer.

The newlyweds are both 1974 graduates of Loyal High School. Following their return from a wedding trip to Northern Wisconsin they will make their home on Rt.1 Granton, where the groom is engaged in farming.
