Isenberger, Lois E. (15 SEP 1900 – 24 FEB 1972)

Mrs. Lois Evelyn Isenberger, age 71, resident of Stanley (Chippewa Co., Wis.), passed away Wednesday evening at Victory Memorial Hospital at Stanley.

She was born in Stanley on September 15, 1900, daughter of Anna and Frank J. Manley. She grew up in the Stanley area and on May 3, 1924 was united in marriage to Paul Isenberger on the Manley farm. After their marriage they moved to Iowa until the fall of 1924, and then moved back to Wisconsin until the fall of 1937. They then returned to Iowa, where they farmed until 1947, when they came back to the Stanley area, where they have lived since. She taught in the rural schools of Wisconsin for ten years. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Stanley, the W.S.C.S., and the Home Progress Club.

She is survived by her husband, Paul, of Stanley; three sons, David of Stanley, Frank Jr. of Morganfield, Kentucky, , and Russell of Thorp; one daughter, Mrs. Don (Donna Lou) Bergman of Augusta; 13 grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Darwin (Madeline) Downer of Yuma, Arizona, Mrs. Violet Gallagher of Eau Claire, and Mrs. Eugene (Charlotte) Brown of Stanley. She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Eugene Edward, and four brothers.

Funeral services were held on Saturday at 2 p.m. at the United Methodist Church, Stanley, with the Reverend David Fuller officiating. Burial was in the East Side Cemetery (Clark Co., Wis.).
