Hamel, Elsie (9 APR 1905 – 3? DEC 1975)

At 11 a.m. Saturday, December 6, 1975, funeral services for Mrs. Royalle Hamel were conducted from the Kraut-Maurina Funeral Home, Owen. The Rev. James Coke, pastor of Holy Rosary Parish, Owen, was in charge of the final rites, with burial being made at Riverside Cemetery, rural Withee.

Serving as casket bearers were Gordon Thorson, C.O. Albert, Edgar Albert, Nels Nielsen, Wm. Warns and Arthur Karow.

The former Elsie Bartman was born April 9, 1905 at Appleton and was married to Royalle Hamel on December 27, 1924, at Kaukauna. They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1974.

The couple lived in the Town of Maplehurst (Taylor Co., Wis.) for one year, and then moved to Appleton, where they resided until 1930. They returned to the Maplehurst Township and farmed until 1945, when they came to Route 1, Withee (Clark Co., Wis.).

Survivors include her husband; two sons, Allan, Farmington, Michigan, and Don, Mount Morris, Illinois; two sisters, Mrs. Frieda Smith, Appleton and Mrs. Alma Prehn, Minneapolis, Minnesota; two brothers, Wills Bartman, Kansas City, Missouri, and Edwin Bartman, Appleton, and five grandchildren.

The family has suggested that memorials to be made to the Heart Fund.
